So as some of you may know i am releasing a single of a cover of a lovely song by Fionn Regan… and i am putting it on iTunes for download… to be released next Saturday…
Jackson… Why are you making us buy your covers?
All my previous covers have been free to download which i am fine with as i love people listening to my music. It is my passion. But i have now got to the stage that so many of you are downloading my music that it is actually costing me money… I use a website called Bandcamp for you to download my music. It gives you 500 free downloads a month. It has got to the stage that there are more than 500 of you downloading my songs a month that i am paying for more free downloads… which costs a good £40. Now i would be fine with this… if i had the money. I am a 17 year old social child that travels around a lot and buys things 24/7. I have got so little money with me at the moment that i couldnt even afford a train ticket to school :P. Now this isn’t a cry cry cry story trying to make you give me money its just i cant keep doing this :P.
I am wanting to increase the quality of each cover/song i do. This unfortunately costs money aswel. I am wanting in the future to go into studios and record some type of album of original songs for you guys. Without money i cant do this, and this is something i really want to do.
I also am doing this to see how many of you guys do actually download this song. I am so passionate about music and am wanting it to be my full time job. Obviously i cant have it being my full time job if i am not making enough money to live off it.
Why should i buy this song?
I am very very very scared about this. This is the first time i have done anything like this and it is a real risk. I have had to pay royalties and get legal documents to do this and it is all a bit scary. I am also a bit scared that i wont get the response i want and i end up loosing money. As simple as this might seem to you this is a massive step for me in my music carrer and i am scared honestly. Excited but scared. But i hope you can support me and help me through this.
I am and will be forever grateful for everyone of you. You have really helped me out and made my dream look more like a reality. If you cant download this song dont worry. Your support is more than enough and i thank you for that :). I am scared but we can do this together :).
